Use 17 in 17 Update 3

As you may remember way back at the start of the year I wanted to use up 17 products in 2017 I actually did take the pictures for this way back in September but have had so many other posts which I have wanted to get up in the meantime this is why this one has taken so long to be posted. In the last update, I had managed to finish one item which was the collection concealer. Since then I have actually managed to finish the Revlon colour stay foundation as well which make me happy as I knew this is a product which I have had for way too long and needed to use up this year.

This is a product that for sure I can see a huge difference in because of the fact that there was for sure nowhere as near as much pan on the blush in the last update and now it has crumbled and there is only a very small amount left. This means that using this product can be very hard now because it is hard to get some on your brush. For sure if this is not a product which has been used up by the next update which I think will be in December it will be one which will be heading in the bin because I have used as much as I think is possible to. 

I actually managed to lose the urban decay primer potion which is very annoying because it has meant that I have not been able to make any progress on this hopefully, this is going to be an item which I find because I want to be able to use it as it is a product which I really love. I think Jess got her hands on it and I do not know where she actually put it. 

Benefit porefessional is an item which I have made a little bit of progress on since the last update it is not one which I have been using all of the time and this could be the reason why I have not complete it yet. I have now got below the benefit writing which means that I am getting a lot of use out of this product when I remember to use it. I think should I actually start using this more than I have been there is a huge chance that this will be used up before the end of the year. This for sure is something I would like because it is not my favourite product in this challenge. 

This is another benefit product which I am trying to use up and I have actually had to take the stopper out of this product in order to be able to use a little bit more of the product out because of doing this it means that I have been able to use more of the product from the side rather than taking it down. I know that if I keep using this product it will mean that I will be able to properly be able to use the whole thing up more so as I use more highlight in the winter months for some reason. I really do want to get this finished before I lose it again. 

I do not think that I have actually touched since the last update because it just shows how much I do not love the product which is hard for me to say because usually give it the best try and actually want to use the product up till the end.  The pigmentation is so poor I have to use so much of it when I use the pallete and also it has so much fallout and at the moment I do not have the time to be dealing with it.I am highly unlikely to use it again I might actually end up throwing this one away. Or actually having to force myself to use it at least once a week so that I do make some progress.

This is a product which I have been using a little bit at a time I think there is now less than a 1/4 left in this product. I think that I have been using this a couple of times a week but I know I need to use more of the lip balm to keep my lips in good condition and this is one which I am loving because I have been wearing more matte lipsticks which means that my lip balms need to keep my lips softer because otherwise, I feel like my lipstick does not look as good as it could. This is a product which I would love to finish before the end of the year because I am sure it is possible. 

This is a product which I have used a hell of a lot because of the warm weather which we had been having this summer I managed to be able to get a complete ring of pan. This is a product which I have not managed to use so much because of the fact that I have been using some other products which have halted the progress on this item. I am sure that this is a product which I am not going to complete this year however, I am sure I will be getting a little bit more use out of this product the year is out. It is only when I look back on the last update that I realise how much progress I have made on this product. 

This is the NYC lip stain in smooch proof and for some reason like the idiot I am I have taken this picture the wrong way around.l I think I am up to the S in Stain however it can be pretty hard due to the packaging to see how much of this you have used. I have found myself having to twist this product up a lot more maybe this is because the product is drying out it could be for another reason. I have been using this one for days when I just want something subtle to wear to university. I would love to get to the end of the word stain before the next update but I am unsure how possible that is because I have been loving a lot of different lip shades recently.

Again it is hard to see how much of the stain I have used but I was about the same as the one in smooch proof but I think I am actually up to the A in stain. I have not been reaching for this one as much for some reason maybe it is because I have been loving some other shades a hell of a lot more and I have found the staying power on these is not great. I hope again to get to the end of the word stain with this before I do my next update I must remember to put them in my bag and then I will actually reach for them more.

The Rimmel scandleyes in Nude is another one which I do not think I have sharpened which means that it will not have got any smaller. I am unsure if I actually reached for this item this is something which I really need to change because I loved it so much.I do not know the reason that I have not reached for it I think I might have to hide the new one of this product so I make sure that I am actually using the same one every time rather than using one which could be a different pencil. I think that I need to actually start using it because then I may see some progress.

Another product which I have not used because I lost it for a few months and obviously when it is lost I can not use the product.  I am talking about the Essence  Long Lasting Eye Pencil in Black Fever. I seem to remember that this was not the greatest eyeliner and have ones which I prefer so reach for them when I want eyeliner. It is not a thing which I usually apply every day anymore because I want to be out the door as quickly as possible now because I fear to missing my train.

The body shop shimmer lip gloss in Cranberry is one which I have only used a handful of times because I have found that it is too sticky for me. I hate sticky lipgloss when you have long hair you hate this kind because they seem to always too sticky with you hair. I think the packaging does not entice me a lot I have put this next to my bed now and may apply it when I go to bed in order to hydrate my lips and actually get some of the product used up. I would love to make some more visible progress with this product in the next few months because I really do want it to be used up.

I think that I have halved the size of the Essence concealer I can not actually think of the name of it and it has rubbed off I think it is antispot. I am amazed how much progress I have managed to make on this because at the start of the project I thought this would be one which I would struggle with due to it being a stick form. I think that if I continue to use the product at the rate which I have been doing it could be one of the next products to be used up. I think I am just going to continue because shock this is one of the only items I am happy with the progress of on.

The final item in this update because I have managed to miss place my soap and glory lipstick and on and on bronze cream eyeshadow that is what you get when you let Jess play near your make up. The final item is the Lush Santa Baby lip scrub the dip in this has got a lot deeper than it was when I put this in the project. This is one which I know for sure I will be using more in the next few months because I wear more matte colours as I am at work and I need them to last and for that you need amazing lips. I do not aim to finish this product I just aim to make some decent progress on this scrub. I would love to hit pan on the bottom of the jar.

Use 17 in 17 Update 2

As you may remember way back at the start of the year I wanted to use up 17 products in 2017. I didn't do an update in February due to the fact that I did not manage to use as much of the products as I thought I might and I felt like there was no progress. I will admit I have managed to lose one of the products because Jess has been playing with my makeup which means I lose it easily.  These pictures were actually taken at the start of the month however, I have just not had time to put them up on my blog so they have been progressing since on some of them.

The first product which I am going to share with you is the Revlon Colour Stay this is a foundation which I have been using because it is my winter shade, This is one which I have now have to really shake to get any product out so it is really close to being actually finished. I have been using this a lot however, I can not wait to repurchase this one and then I will have the pump because this is something which my doesn't have due to its age. I think I will only be able to use this if I mix it with a foundation which is too dark for me because I have a slight tan now and this would be way to light for me.

The next item is one which I can see the difference in and it is the Sleek Rose Gold Blush the pan on this has grown a lot to the left and on the top. The product is getting really thin and I can see this crumbling a lot soon because of this. I have only been using this blush for the past few months which shows when I put my mind to it I can use some serious amount of product. This is one I can see myself using a lot more now because I seem to be wearing more makeup. I can see myself hitting pan completely on the left side by the next update which I aim to make in August.

The urban decay primer potion is one which has had a little bit of love recently maybe this is because of the warm weather I have wanted to make sure that my eyeshadow is going to stay in place. This has gone from been around the d of decay to around the a of urban. I think this is going to be a product which I end up using more while the weather is so warm. I think that I might actually be able to use this product up before the end of the year my target for the next 3 months is the u in urban.

Porefessional I do not think I have made a secret is not one of my favourite products because of the film that it seems to leave on my skin. I do not think I have not used this product since around April I might have used it a couple of times since then but due to the really small amount that you need to use you can hardly see any progress. I hope to use this product a lot more because I really want it to go and if I do not start using it soon it is not going to be gone before the end of the year.

High beam is a product which there does not look like a lot of progress has been made on however the progress has actually been on clearing out the bit behind where I had made progress and you can now see through the packaging. Even though the product has not gone down it has made a massive dent into clearing the product which is something I am proud of. I really need to use high beam more because since adding it into this project I have really enjoyed using it. I think if I put my mind to it I could have this product completed in the next couple of months.

This pallete is one which I know that I am not going to complete because I have realised how much I actually do not like this product. The pigmentation is so poor I have to use so much of it when I use the pallete and also it has so much fallout and at the moment I do not have the time to be dealing with it. I do not think I have used this product since the last update and I think I am highly unlikely to use it again I might actually end up throwing this one away. Or actually having to force myself to use it at least once a week so that I do make some progress.

ELF SPF 15 Lip Balm is a product which I will admit I have actually been using a little bit but due to the amount that you need it takes a while for progress to be made and be seen easily. I think that I have been using this a couple of times a week but I know I need to use more of the lip balm to keep my lips in good condition anyway while we are having this warm weather so this maybe the perfect time to do this. I aim by Sepetember to have less than I currently do maybe have used  1/4 of what is left.  This is a product which I have been loving and I rarely use any other lipbalm because of how easy this product is.

The last time I did an update the Essence say matte powder had the tiniest bit of pan however, this has expanded over the last couple of months as you can see and the area around the pan has got a lot thinner. This powder has not been used that much in the last month or so because I have fallen in love with a Nars one which I purchased at the end of last year.  I really need to focus on this one because the packaging has broken and now I can not travel with it while it is warm and I am needing to powder more I should see a huge change in this product.

I have only used one item in the whole of these 6 months but I have decent progress on a couple of them I do not think I am going to be able to finish 17 because I have been taking far too many make up free days but who knows it may change and I might make some amazing progress in the last 6 months of the year.

Convert Old Candles to Wax Tarts

As you might know I am a huge candle addict however I hate it when you get to the bottom of a candle and you actually  have some wax left but the candle will not light as the wick has burnt out. I decided that I was sick of it so much I wondered if I could turn some of my favourite candles into wax tarts and actually enjoy them in my wax tart burner. I have done this a couple of times now with great success so I have decided that I am going to share how I do it with you.

The first thing which you need to do is find a candle which you like which you have burnt as far as down as you can, I have this Cranberry one which was a dupe for bath and body works which I picked up from B&M at Christmas time, I actually finished this one in about February but just haven't converted them into tarts till now.

As you can see I have burnt as much as I can the wick has now disappeared and this means that I can not light it even thought there is actually a ton of wax left. You do not need a lot of things to turn them into tarts you need a kettle to boil water in a mixing bowl and am ice cube tray. You can use your normal mixing bowl however, I think I would use a spare ice cube tray because you are going to pour hot wax in them and I would not want to then make ice cubes with the same tray in case there is something in the wax which makes them undrinkable.

The first thing which I do after boiling the water is pour it in to a mixing bowl making sure that the fill line is actually above the amount of wax. The reason that it needs to be boiling water is so that the wax actually melts. Make sure that you pour the water in the bowl not into the candle because if this occurs it will mean that you are diluting the wax so it will not be strong scented when you go to burn the tarts. ,You need to make sure that all of the wax is meted before you pour it it may take a while so you need to be patient.

Once all of the wax is melted slowly pour the wax make sure that you do not get too close to the the top because you need to be able to pop them out when the wax has actually has actually dried, Depending on the amount of the wax which you have you may get multiple tarts I think from the one which I have shown you I managed to get 6 small tarts which are the same size as ice cubes. They still have the same amount of scent as when it was a candle and this way means that you do actually get to use the most of the candle.

Use 17 in 17 update 1

As you may remember way back at the start of the year I wanted to use up 17 products in 2017. I didn't do an update in February due to the fact that I did not manage to use as much of the products as I thought I might and I felt like there was no progress. I will admit I have managed to lose one of the products because Jess had the Soap and Glory Lipstick in Pompom. I am sure that I am going to find it at some stage in the future and actually will be able to use it all up. Another product which you may notice is missing is the collection lasting perfection concealer this is because I have managed to complete this already I have one in my stash which I will be using in the next few months but I am glad my old one has been completed.

The first product which I am going to share with you is one which I know that I haven't used at all in the two months which is really annoying because I am never going to finish if I don't use it. The product which I am talking about is the Revlon Colourstay foundation. I feel like this is a product which I am going to use this more when I need a foundation to last all day I am sure this is one which I will be using for the grand national which I will be attending at the start of next month. My aim is to start using this in the next couple of months.

The next item is one which I can see the difference in and it is the Sleek Rose Gold Blush I can see the pan has grown on the left which is always good because more pan means that I am using the product up. I can also see that the right side is starting to thin out as well. I am unsure if I am going to be able to finish the whole blush in the time but I am glad that I can see more pan. Because of the colour, this is one which I am sure will be used more in the summer months because it is such an easy colour to wear and it makes me look like I have been in the sun.

I think that I have really only this once but this will change when I have more time on my hands in the mornings I will be able to do more eyeshadow my aim for this product is to use it a couple of times and I am sure this is something I will be doing as I have some exciting things coming up next month which may see me using more eyeshadow so I will be reaching for my primer.

This is another product which I did not think that I had used a lot but when I look back on the pictures I can tell that some have been made as I have gone down to the E now and was on the a The highlight is naturally something which I reach for in the summer months so this is something which in the next few months I am sure you will be able to see a change in. I really want this product to be gone before September and I am sure it is achievable.

The pigmentation in this eyeshadow pallete is poor for me which makes me not want to go and reach for it because every time I do I seem to be very disappointed which is never a good thing. This is the Avon 8 in 1 pallete if you was not aware of it. I think I have used it a handful of times because I have others which I love more but in order to start using this I think I am going to have to use it at least once a week so I can make some dents in it. This is a product which I really do not think I will have finished before the end of the year I think is a step too far for me but only time will tell. 

ELF SPF 15 Lip Balm is a product which I will admit I have actually been reaching for at least 3/4 times a week which is a great way to make progress. I don't feel like you can see that I have made that much progress because of the fact you don't need a lot of it and also because it is clear. This is one which I am going to try and maintain because I am sure that it can be finished before the end of the year which is going to be a huge achievement for someone like me who doesn't use a lot of lipbalm. I think this is one which I would repurchase if I found it again

The powder is a product which I seem to reach for more in the summer months so I do not go oily but as you can see I have made a little bit of progress on the Essence stay all day powder because I have now hit a small amount of pan. This is one which will start going faster when the weather becomes warmer because if you are in the UK you will know how cold it has been and I do not need much powder. I have decided that if I have not completed this before the end of the year I may end up throwing it away because of the broken packaging.

When I started the project the NYC lip stain in smooch proof was close to the L in lip stain and now it is closer to the S. It is really hard to see how much of this you have used in on the picture but I promise that is how much I have. I have found that I have come to love these products because they are so easy to wear even for university which means that I am reaching for them quite a lot at the moment. I would love to be half way up the stain part by the next update and I am confident of using that much if I maintain the rate I am currently working at.

Again it is hard to see how much of the stain I have used but I was about the same as the one in smooch proof but I think I am actually up to the T in stain in this one which is the shade rock on ruby. If I have not been using smooch proof I have been using this one I am confident that I can make more progress on these due to the fact that I am loving them so much. I would love to use to the end of the word stain in this product by the next update this may be setting myself a really hard challenge but only time will tell.

It might make me look more awake which is something which I need at this time when I have so many assignments which need completing. So look out for some progress on this item in the next update.

Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil in Black Fever this is a product which I know I have only used once and I was not too impressed with it which is the reason why I have not used it again At least I have managed to get a small amount of progress but the aim for time item is to use it a handful of times before the next update in order for progress to be made.

I think I have used this a few times but due to the fact I have been reaching for the ELF lip balm, it means I have not been reaching for this one as a much. However, I can see that I have made a tiny bit of pan but for me, this lip balm is way to sticky and this is why I do not reach for it more even though I really should.  I want to make the sides go down a little bit in the next few months and then this will prove to me that this product is going down.

Cream eyeshadow is something which I love because to me it means that I can swipe the colour all the way over the eyes. However, this is a product which you do not use a lot of which means that these products seem to last for a long time. I have been using this product every couple of days but they does not seem to be much different but I do aim to use a lot more of this product when it is the summer months.

Since I managed to finish one product I have decided to add another one this is the Lush santa lip scrub which I know is out of date but this is not something which bothers me at all. I love the way that this polishes my lips and makes sure that there are no dead skin on my lips which makes applying lipsticks easier. This product you need the smallest amount of so it is going to take a while I just want to see how much progress I can make in the year.
